JUDO2 Samples

A page displayed with JUDO2 is "static", in the sense that the page has a fixed URL (permalink). To display the fixed URL, click the "permalink" button at the upper-left of the image display window. Here, we show several sample permalinks which demonstrate effective usages of JUDO2.

Compare instruments with different spatial resolutions

• MAXI and Swift-BAT images of the Galactic plane.
• Suzaku and XMM-Newton images of Eta Carinae

Compare observations with different wavelengths

• Vela-Carena region MAX GSC (hard X-rays) and SSC (Soft X-ray) images
• Suzaku (X-ray) and Akari (Far infrared) images of Cygnus loop
• The Horse-head Nebula in optical (DSS) and Far infrared (Akari).　
  The nebular is very dark in optical, whereas very bright in far-infrared.

Evolution of variable X-ray sources

• An X-ray flare of X1724-308(MAXI GSC) on 2009/8/20
  Confirm that the source was bright only on August 20, by forwarding or reversing the daily images.
• Hard state to Soft state transition of the black hole candidate XTE J1752-223 (MAXI GSC) around January 21, 2010
  Forward the daily images to see that the source color changes from bluish (hard X-ray spectrum) to reddish (soft X-ray spectrum).
• Soft X-ray transition MAXI J0158-744 on November 11, 2011
  Note that this transient source is so soft that it is not seen with MAXI GSC in hard X-rays on the same day.

Constellations

• You can easily see which constellation you are looking at.
  The background image is by MAXI GSC.
• Virgo and Coma cluster regions, with MAXI SSC image (background) and Suzaku footprints (pink).
  Suzaku carried out a sequence of offset pointings to cover outskirts of several largely extended clusters of galaxies. In this picture, Virgo cluster and Coma ("hair of the head") cluster are seen. You may tell which is which.
